Job Duties:This position performs entry-level correctional supervisory and instructional work that supports classroom and hands-on training for new hires and incumbent staff at a Regional Training Academy. Key responsibilities include instructing security and non-security trainees and employees in security procedures, searches, inmate custody and management, emergency response, defensive tactics, and the use of firearms and chemical agent delivery systems. The role requires preparing training materials, providing classroom instruction, counseling, and supervision, evaluating trainee performance, administering examinations, and coordinating with academy leadership to maintain training schedules. Additional duties involve developing and revising lesson plans, instructional methods, and training aids; compiling and maintaining training records; and ensuring compliance with agency policies, procedures, and safety standards.
