Ricky Pasquet with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill an Accounts Payable Clerk role to support day-to-day payment operations for a growing company in Reno, Nevada. This role is responsible for handling invoice entry, reviewing backup documentation, and helping ensure vendor payments are processed accurately and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential financial data, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

Record and code vendor invoices for multiple business entities and assigned locations with a high degree of accuracy.

Review invoices and related documentation to confirm approvals, completeness, and payment readiness before disbursement.

Coordinate recurring check runs and manage electronic payments on an ongoing basis to meet established deadlines.

Investigate payment discrepancies, follow up on outstanding issues, and maintain clear documentation of resolutions.

Examine financial records and source materials to validate transactions and support accurate account activity.

Respond to questions regarding accounts payable practices by applying company guidelines and relevant financial procedures.

Keep transaction records organized and current by entering data promptly into accounting systems and maintaining reliable files.

Safeguard sensitive vendor and company information by following confidentiality standards in all accounting activities.

Support the broader accounting team with additional finance-related tasks and special assignments as needed.

Requirements

Prior experience in accounts payable, including invoice coding, invoice processing, and payment administration.

Hands-on familiarity with accounting systems; experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite is strongly preferred.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting, tracking, and documentation.

Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different levels of the organization.

Solid attention to detail with proven ability to manage deadlines, conduct research, and maintain accurate data entry.

Understanding of accounting or corporate finance principles; related education or relevant background is preferred.

Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and sound judgment.
