Summary The incumbent works at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Salisbury, North Carolina in Health Administration Service (HAS). This position has responsibility for reporting and setting up clinic profiles within the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) computer system. Responsibilities Major duties include, but are not limited to: Communicates to the clinic profile manager related primarily to access and clinic profile management and appraised of events and decisions which could have a significant impact on the successful operation of the clinic profiles and other Data Quality programs. Meets with clinic staff to instruct and explain clinic mapping procedures, and routinely reviews clinic profiles. Monitors profiles to determine if adequate time slots are available for patient scheduling needs, as well as for handling patient workloads without inordinate scheduling delays. Determines if excess future appointment time slots should be brought to the attention of the clinic provider for redistribution. Performs validation of clinic set-up information to include, but is not limited to, billable status, count versus non-count, DSS identifiers (formerly known as stop codes), and activation of encounter forms. Process timely slot requests to create slots, activate clinics, inactivate clinics, convert slots, create and modify clinics as requested by clinical service through leaf approval request. Performs data retrieval and analysis of abstracted data for Medical Center management and clinic staff for validation (example: VistA, CPRS, reports, etc.). Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/22/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
