Accounting Coordinator Job Description

Job Title: Accounting Coordinator

Department: Accounting/Finance

Reports To: Accounting Manager

The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of financial transactions. This position serves as a key liaison between accounting, operations, vendors, and customers while assisting with reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

Review, code, and enter invoices accurately and timely.

Prepare and post journal entries as needed.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.

Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections efforts.

Support payroll processing and related reconciliations.

Generate financial reports and assist with financial analysis.

Respond to vendor and customer inquiries regarding billing and payment issues.

Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

Assist with audits and special accounting projects.

Perform administrative and accounting support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or finance experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.

Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.

Intermediate Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Requirements

1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or finance experience.
