We are seeking an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join a growing MEP consulting firm supporting projects across healthcare, education, commercial, retail, multifamily, and institutional markets.
This is a 100% remote opportunity, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a highly respected engineering team on a diverse portfolio of building projects.
The ideal candidate has experience designing building systems within an MEP consulting environment and is comfortable taking projects from initial calculations and system layouts through construction documents and multidisciplinary coordination.
Responsibilities
Design mechanical or electrical building systems for commercial, healthcare, educational, retail, multifamily, and institutional facilities.
Develop HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and other building system designs depending on discipline.
Perform engineering calculations, load analyses, equipment sizing, and code compliance reviews.
Prepare construction documents, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to develop and coordinate engineering drawings.
Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, plumbing, fire protection, and other engineering disciplines.
Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, energy codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical solutions throughout all phases of a project.
Support project management activities including scheduling, coordination, and client communication.
Assist during construction through submittal reviews, RFIs, and field-related design support.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of MEP consulting experience focused on building system design.
Experience designing mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing) or electrical systems (power, lighting, distribution).
Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit experience highly preferred.
Strong understanding of building codes, energy standards, and engineering best practices.
Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects while working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
EIT or PE License.
Experience supporting healthcare, education, commercial, retail, institutional, or multifamily projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, lighting, or building infrastructure systems.
Experience with construction administration, submittals, and RFIs.
Client-facing and project management experience.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary MEP projects.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $140000.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
