Become a Generation Major Construction Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be in the Project Management group within the Major Projects and Engineering department of SCE's Generation operating unit. You will lead diverse teams in the management and execution of multiple capital projects and programs for Generation Operations within SCE's service territory for multiple asset @types. These projects typically have high visibility with significant financial and operational impacts.

Responsibilities
Manages the activities of one or more moderate to large, mid-term to long term projects or programs with responsibility for results in terms of scope, schedule, cost/budget, and risk in accordance with the organization and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Exercises considerable latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverable Develops strategy and business cases plans, objectives and initiatives for the organization related to projects and seeks approval from management in accordance with MPO policies, procedures and guidelines; with input from a senior manager or principal manager; leads the development, and management of the project schedule; leads the development of the project budget; manages the project change control process.
Leads a large team of professionals and project managers (combination of SCE and supplemental ICs and leaders) and contractors in the development and execution of major projects and programs; provides both strategic and tactical leadership and well as oversight of work performed; addresses performance issues and elevates as needed; regularly makes decisions regarding project direction in collaboration with senior manager and principal manager; develops recommendations for senior management and executive level decisions in collaboration with senior manager and principal manager.
Engages with all levels of management and acts as a key consultant for both functional and business issues; Regularly develops and presents to executive and senior management on project related issues and prescribed milestones for approval.
Provides overall project leadership for safety, ensures the design incorporates the latest standards and requirements and that the work associated with the project is conducted injury free.
Holds a high level of fiscal responsibility and approval authority related to projects and programs. Leads the development of cost estimates, project and program budgets, approves expenditures and reviews project expenditures for appropriateness (supports SOX financial accountability).
Initiates project, forms and develops project team, leads the project development, including development of preferred and alternative project scope, leads the environmental assessment development inclusive of state and federal license applications, represents SCE with state and federal agencies, leads execution planning including engineering, permit acquisition, land acquisition, construction planning including material procurement, project execution strategy development, contract development and execution, contract management and contractor oversight, testing plans, quality assurance program and plans, and project closeout.
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other @types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven or more years of experience in construction project management.
Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher level of education in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
Proven track record delivering complex power generation, water and/or gas utility projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, and customer service.
Experience specifying and managing project cost/budget, scope, schedule, and resources, managing vendors, and supervising formal project planning, tracking, reporting, change management, and risk management.
Experience leading direct interactions with internal and external partners, including environmental, safety, regulatory permitting agencies, local cities/counties, and state/federal organizations.
Experience with Primavera and or MS Project scheduling software with proficiency in MS Office suite.
Project Management Certification or Degree.
Project management skills, including attention to safety, problem solving, communication, teamwork, continuous improvement, and strong interpersonal skills including influence and negotiation.
Knowledge and understanding of Power Generating plant operations, equipment, business mechanics, policies, practices, and procedures.
Additional Information
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.? Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.? Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

The primary work location for this position is Redlands, CA.
Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
Relocation does not apply to this position.
