The official title of this position is Information Cybersecurity Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-15. Responsibilities Typical work assignments include, but are not limited to: Staying current with the state of industry as it relates to cyber tools, operational visibility needs to detect adversarial behavior, and "big data" technologies (e.g., analytics, agentic AI, etc.). Developing data integration reference architectures for national security programs and systems. Designing data analytics within big-data platforms that address nation-critical cyber security problems. Briefing senior government officials on the design and progress of large scale data engineering projects to communicate status and objectives. Leading engineering teams that conduct engineering reviews of data architecture implementations that result in successful outcomes. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. citizen. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. You qualify at the GS-15 grade level, if you have: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level (or equivalent) performing all the following duties: Managing large scale cyber security data platforms and associated information technology (IT) infrastructure required to implement the strategic direction of program and Agency leadership; Evaluating and recommending data requirements in relation to a cyber defensive mission and quickly assesses technologies and services to recommend methods for acquiring the data; AND Engineering and implementing data integration and cloud native services that process, transform, and transport cyber security data from different operational environments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
