Electrical Product Engineer

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Electrical Product Engineer at Putzmeister America, Inc. in Sturtevant, Wisconsin will work to design and document new or modified proprietary product components and assemblies for assigned standard product line with an awareness of impact on product features, functions, cost to product, and serviceability. Create all documentation needed to produce and sell the product, including drawings, bill of materials (BOM), specifications sheets, and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) with an emphasis on accuracy, integrity, and timely production of the information; organize, control, and track all data related to a product throughout its lifecycle using tools like Siemens Team Center Product Data Management (PDM) software; create and maintain SAP configurator, configurable BOM\'s, product characteristics and dependencies using SAP programing language; perform necessary calculations for ensuring that new designs are inherently strong and reliable enough for application without being excessively expensive to produce; ensure parts and assemblies are designed for fit, form, and function and adhere to all internal standards and regulations (ISO procedures, drafting standards, etc.), documentation, and revision history; design, develop, test, and maintain electrical systems and components to meet project requirements using ELCAD software; ensure that all electrical designs are safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant with applicable safety and functional standards; design electrical interface schematics to integrate Putzmeister equipment across regional markets, ensuring manufacturer and regional safety standards are met; work closely with product managers, manufacturing personnel, and/or outside suppliers to analyze parts and assemblies for strength and reliability, manufacturability, material costs, and customer acceptance (aesthetics, safety, function, etc.); troubleshoot electrical concrete pumps issues on production or at the customer and make necessary changes; coordinate changes on product designs for the purpose of customer satisfaction and economical production and service; work with other departments for effective communication of documents created; and periodically review product specifications and features with Product Managers for listing and prioritizing of future improvements, as well as period jobsite visits for information gathering and customer relationship management. Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus four years of experience as an Operations Manager, Product Engineer, or related occupation in a manufacturing environment. Four years of experience must include at least four years of experience with each of the following: (1) development of electrical diagrams with low (VDC) and high (VAC) voltage; (2) truck chassis and industrial equipment electronic diagnostic and programing tools to create files for machines, troubleshooting, and program controllers and sensors; (3) inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting via Controller Area Network (CAN) connection, including programming and changing sensor IDs, remote frequency control, and service tools; and (4) using PCAN View (PEAK-System Controller Area Network) to troubleshoot machine issues and scan CAN bus to verify proper communication.
