Role Overview
The New York Life Investments Management (NYLIM) Client Strategy & Relationship Management Summer Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors interested in relationship management and business strategy within the asset management industry.
This 10-week paid internship begins in June 2027 and is based in our New York City offices. Interns will join our US Retail team and will support one of two business areas:
Global Relationship Management (GRM) & Adviser Advancement Institute (AAI) ( US Retail )
Institutional Client Group (ICG) (Global Distribution)
Throughout the summer, interns will participate in business overviews, networking opportunities, leadership presentations, training sessions, and collaborative intern programming while gaining firsthand exposure to New York Life Investments' distribution organization.
What You'll Do
Depending on your assigned team, your responsibilities may include:
Global Relationship Management (GRM) & Adviser Advancement Institute (AAI) ( US Retail )
Support sales enablement technology, including platforms such as Allego
Assist with capturing and sharing advisor success stories and best practices
Shadow AAI presenters during virtual and in-person sessions to learn presentation and engagement strategies
Assist with reporting and tracking team initiatives and program outcomes
Contribute to weekly newsletters and internal communications
Update product guides, sales materials, and reference resources
Help coordinate conference calendars and meeting logistics
Support strategic campaigns and business planning initiatives
Attend home office webinars and summarize key insights for Relationship Managers
Institutional Client Group (ICG) (Global Distribution)
Global Distribution Leadership Meetings (GDC)
Organize meeting agendas and prepare materials for committee sessions.
Coordinate follow-up action items and ensure timely execution across stakeholders.
Strategic Partners Forum (SPF)
Assist in planning and executing this global client training event.
Participate in and support live sessions.
Arrange feedback sessions and compile a formal feedback document to inform future programs.
Institutional Client Group Summit (ICGS)
Help develop the program agenda and prepare speakers.
Collaborate with the Global Events team to ensure seamless execution.
Affiliate Engagement & Strategic Initiatives
Support engagement with NYL Investment Managements' affiliate investment boutiques, helping coordinate priorities and strengthen connectivity with the global distribution organization.
Prepare materials and analysis for affiliate discussions, including meeting briefs, business updates, and follow-up items.
Help gather and synthesize feedback from affiliates and distribution teams to identify themes, opportunities, and areas requiring additional coordination.
Support strategic projects focused on improving how ICG and the broader distribution organization engage with affiliates and serve institutional clients.

What You'll Bring

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and project management abilities
Analytical thinking and attention to detail
Initiative and willingness to learn
Ability to collaborate across multiple teams
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Interest in financial services, investments, sales, marketing, relationship management, or business strategy
Previous internship experience or leadership in campus organizations is a plus
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited four-year college or university
Anticipated graduation between December 2027 and June 2029
Preferred majors include Business, Finance, Economics, Communications, Management, or related fields
Eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
