Housekeeping Manager
SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for assisting Housekeeping Management in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hotel, including rooms and public area. Major responsibilities include ensuring guests are satisfied with hotel cleanliness, responding to guest needs, ensuring safety and security of rooms, maintaining inventory and cost controls. Establishes a friendly atmosphere of superior guest service and product quality and provides exemplary performance for Team Members to follow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.
Maintains cleanliness standards for both rooms and public areas and inspects them to ensure that standards are met.
Assists and Coaches Team Members in all aspects of housekeeping, including guest service, Room Attendants, Housepersons, Laundry Attendants, and Leads
Assists in administrating guest satisfaction inspection procedures and reports.
Responsible for distributing keys, Technology devices, and supplies to the Housekeeping Attendants on assigned shifts. Ensures equipment and supplies are used properly at all times.
Plans work schedules and room assignments with minimum disruption to guests.
Empowers hotel staff to deliver superior guest service by encouraging responsiveness to guest needs.
Conducts a department stand-up to include presenting to a Team of at least 35; the information for the day, including culture topic, training topics, daily focus, and Team Member recognition, etc.
Inventory supplies and making order recommendations and/or orders in the procurement system.
Ensures all Team Members comply with established safety standards when using equipment and supplies.
Performs Housekeeping Attendant duties including Room Attendant, Housepersons, Laundry Attendant, or Trainer duties as required by daily operations.
Assists in maintaining guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel.
Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service by responding promptly to guest needs with an interest and concern in satisfying every guest.
Communicates to guests about hotel promotions, local attractions and points of interest.
Communicates with guests in problem resolution scenarios.
Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
Utilizes Opera, Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining sufficient staffing levels; interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An applicant's education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. FireKeepers reserves the right to verify the sufficiency of a candidate's education, training and competencies through the interview process, testing and methods.
The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and/or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities:
Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.
High School diploma or GED.
Two years previous Housekeeping experience in hotel, casino, hospital, or cleaning business.
Must possess computer skills, especially Windows and Microsoft Office.
Must possess excellent communication and effective public speaking skills. Must be able to utilize IPAD, IPOD, and other technology devices to supervise daily operations.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous supervisory experience.
Successful completion of any of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs. WEEA Certified.
