Robert Half is seeking an IT Support Specialist for our partner in the Madison area. This role will provide day-to-day technical support to end users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and help maintain a reliable technology environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support requests and track issues through resolution.

Provide technical support for computers, phones, software, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Troubleshoot user issues and escalate more complex problems to senior IT staff when needed.

Maintain accurate hardware and software asset records.

Assist users with training on software, devices, and technology processes.

Identify recurring technical issues and recommend longer-term solutions.

Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and procedures for the IT knowledge base.

Support Windows-based domain infrastructure and virtualization environments.

Follow established IT, security, and organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

Experience providing IT support in a help desk, desktop support, or similar role. Entry-level candidates with strong technical fundamentals are welcome.

Basic experience with Active Directory, including user accounts and group management.

Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, OneDrive, and SharePoint troubleshooting.

Strong Windows troubleshooting skills, including common workstation, application, and security issues.

Basic understanding of networking and connectivity troubleshooting.

Familiarity with ticketing systems and documenting support requests.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to provide hands-on onsite support and work directly with end users.

Familiarity with Citrix, workstation deployment, or hardware/peripheral support is a plus.
