Mechanical Assembler / Industrial Assembler
Build Custom Industrial Equipment and Take Pride in Your Work
We're looking for skilled Mechanical Assemblers on 1st shift to join our team building custom industrial machinery. This is a hands-on role where you'll assemble, fit, align, test, and troubleshoot equipment using blueprints, hand tools, power tools, and mechanical expertise.

What You'll Do
Assemble filtration systems and industrial machinery to quality and performance standards
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and assembly layouts
Fit, align, and install mechanical components, motors, pumps, piping, and subassemblies
Make basic electrical, hydraulic, and piping connections as required
Drill, tap, cut, and fit materials during the assembly process
Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to complete builds
Perform testing and inspections to verify equipment performance
Troubleshoot and make adjustments to ensure reliable operation
Identify and report quality issues or defects
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
What We're Looking For
? Experience with mechanical assembly, machine building, construction, or industrial equipment assembly
? Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
? Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
? Experience using hand tools, power tools, drills, taps, and measuring equipment
? Ability to assemble, align, and adjust machinery to precise specifications
? Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems
Preferred Qualifications
Maintenance technician or industrial maintenance experience
Experience installing or servicing industrial machinery
Basic welding and fabrication experience
Familiarity with electrical wiring and machine connections
Experience testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting mechanical systems

Schedule
1st Shift: Approximately 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
30-minute lunch break
Standard 8-hour shifts with overtime opportunities
Up to 10-hour shifts as needed
Occasional Saturday work
Some flexibility in start times may be required
Work Environment
You'll work in a well-lit industrial manufacturing facility with a rich history and plenty of natural light. This hands-on position involves working with machinery, tools, and custom-built equipment in a collaborative team environment.
The facility experiences seasonal temperature changes, with fans and ventilation used during warmer months. Employees also enjoy complimentary cold drinks and frozen treats during the summer.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
