Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on cement silos, concrete pumping systems, dust collectors, pressure valves, gauges, and related plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment. This role supports safe and reliable plant operations by conducting scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, and restoring equipment to proper working condition while maintaining strict safety and cleanliness standards.

Pay: $27 to $30 an hour
Shift: 7am to 6pm or 7pm to 6am (Schedule may change based on ship arrivals, unloading operations, and production demands)
Must have 4+ years of previous maintenance mechanic experience

Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on cement silos, concrete pumping systems, dust collectors, pressure valves, gauges, and related plant equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective repairs.
Support maintenance activities within control rooms and plant operations areas to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) and complete work orders accurately and on time.
Inspect equipment regularly, identify potential failures, and perform necessary repairs or component replacements before breakdowns occur.
Replace bearings, belts, chains, motors, gearboxes, valves, and other mechanical components as needed to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical drawings, and schematics to plan and execute repair and maintenance tasks.
Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor industrial conditions while adhering to all safety procedures.
Use hand tools and power tools correctly and safely to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all maintenance and plant areas.
Document maintenance activities, findings, and repairs in accordance with plant procedures and work order requirements.
Collaborate with plant operations and other maintenance personnel to coordinate work, support production needs, and resolve equipment issues promptly.
Essential Skills
Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, cement, aggregate, chemical, power generation, or similar industrial environment.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills, particularly with rotating and process equipment.
Hands-on experience working with pumps, conveyors, valves, and rotating equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Proficiency in performing scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) and completing work orders.
Ability to read and use maintenance manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
Knowledge of pumps, valves, gauges, dust collection systems, and related industrial equipment.
Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor industrial conditions.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established safety procedures.
Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and power tools for industrial maintenance work.
Ability to work rotating day and night shifts as required by plant operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Industrial maintenance experience in heavy process industries such as cement, aggregate, chemical, or power generation.
Experience supporting maintenance activities in control rooms and plant operations areas.
Experience inspecting equipment to identify potential failures and performing proactive repairs.
Familiarity with replacing bearings, belts, chains, motors, gearboxes, valves, and similar components.
Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance work and follow established work order processes.
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a maintenance team in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
