JOB REQUIREMENTS: Muter Law Office is seeking a Wisconsin attorney interested in developing a family-law litigation practice. Approximately 13 years of litigation experience is preferred, but experience level is flexible for the right candidate. Family-law experience is helpful, but not required. Position Description This position offers meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to develop an active litigation practice. The associate attorney will work directly with clients, negotiate cases, appear in court, prepare contested matters, and develop responsibility for their own caseload with mentoring and support from experienced attorneys. Primary responsibilities include: -Representing clients in divorce, legal custody and physical placement, child support, and related family-law matters -Meeting and communicating directly with clients -Negotiating with opposing counsel and unrepresented parties -Drafting pleadings, correspondence, agreements, and other legal documents -Conducting discovery -Preparing for and appearing at hearings and trials -Managing an individual caseload with attorney and staff support Qualifications -Wisconsin law license or eligibility for Wisconsin licensure -Approximately 13 years of litigation experience preferred -Courtroom experience preferred -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Sound professional judgment -Ability to work independently and collaboratively -Interest in developing a family-law litigation practice We care more about finding the right attorney than checking every box. Muter Law Office is a small, established Baraboo firm with a strong family-law practice. Our office is intentionally comfortable and approachable. Jeans and sweatshirts are common when we\'re not in court, and clients frequently tell us that the relaxed environment makes it easier to talk openly about difficult and personal issues. That informality does not extend to the quality of our work. We value preparation, professionalism, good judgment, and excellent client service. We simply don\'t believe those things require an overly formal law-office environment. Our size provides attorneys with direct client relationships, meaningful courtroom experience, increasing responsibility, mentoring when needed, and the opportunity to develop their own style as an attorney. Compensation & Benefits Anticipated total compensation is \$75,000\$125,000+, based on experience and production. The position includes a \$55,000 guaranteed base salary plus substantial production-based compensation. Our compensation structure is transparent and tied directly to collected revenue, providing significant earning potential as an attorney develops their practice and caseload.
