Job Title: Food Science Marketing Coordinator
Job Description
The Food Science Marketing Coordinator bridges the gap between science and marketing by transforming complex technical concepts into clear, engaging content for customers and industry professionals. This role supports the development and execution of marketing content, promotional materials, and communication initiatives across regional and global markets, with a strong focus on food science, enzymes, and food processing applications. The position is ideal for a food science professional who enjoys writing, digital marketing, and collaborating with technical and commercial teams to communicate the value of innovative enzyme solutions across the food industry.
Responsibilities
Develop a strong understanding of the product portfolio across all industries and applications, including customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
Create, manage, and continuously improve marketing content across websites, social media platforms, email campaigns, and other digital communication channels.
Support and coordinate the planning and execution of marketing activities across regional and global businesses.
Help maintain social media accounts, specifically LinkedIn, by publishing engaging promotional and curated posts.
Support regional improvements to the website, including content updates and enhancements.
Create informative, non-promotional materials such as general market information, trend reports, and educational content to support the execution of at least two campaigns per year.
Collaborate with SEO/GEO teams to optimize content for search visibility, engagement, and performance.
Support the maintenance of email automation systems by updating contacts, managing workflows, and creating email content.
Coordinate with external design agencies to develop marketing graphics, trade show materials, and other visual assets.
Work closely with Technical Service and Technical Sales teams to develop promotional materials that clearly communicate technical and commercial value.
Support the planning and development of product proto@types and demonstration materials for trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events.
Assist in managing paid media calendars, advertising materials, and tracking relevant performance metrics and marketing KPIs.
Contribute to public relations efforts by assisting with communication and coordination with PR agencies and preparing or reviewing company press releases.
Contribute to the development and execution of communication strategies aligned with business objectives across the enzyme market.
Submit a monthly report, including key performance indicators, to the supervisor by the first business day of each month.
Maintain effective communication with other departments, customers, and vendors as needed to support marketing and communication activities.
Promote a cooperative, constructive, and professional atmosphere within the team and across departments.
Implement 5S pillars within the workplace to support organization, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Follow GMP and SQF requirements through the company's quality management system.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support broader marketing, communication, and commercial objectives.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Knowledge of food science, food ingredients, food additives, food processing, enzymes, or similar technical products.
Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, engaging, and accurate content for technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and commercial teams.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Effective communication skills, including oral communication and presentation abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience or knowledge of food science, food additives, food processing, or similar technical fields.
Experience working in the food ingredient, food manufacturing, enzyme, flavor, specialty ingredient, or biotechnology industries.
Experience translating complex technical information into clear, customer-focused commercial messaging.
Familiarity with LinkedIn marketing, including managing company pages and publishing educational and promotional content.
Experience with website content management and digital marketing tools.
Experience with email marketing platforms and marketing automation, including managing contact lists and workflows.
Understanding of food industry trends and customer needs, especially within enzyme and specialty ingredient markets.
Experience in marketing strategy, marketing communications, and executing marketing campaigns.
Knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, or related scientific disciplines is a plus.
Strong presentation skills to support trade shows, customer events, and internal communications.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.90/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
