Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Engineer works in a fast-paced custom manufacturing environment to research, design, develop, and select components for electromechanical and electronic control systems used in commercial and industrial products. This role designs industry-leading products, collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and customers, and supports onsite production to ensure high-quality, innovative, and reliable systems.
Responsibilities
Design electrical control systems for commercial and industrial products and associated electrical power distribution systems.
Generate and modify electrical schematics and panel layouts to meet project and customer requirements.
Assemble bills of material for control systems and related electrical components.
Develop clear and detailed installation and operation instructions for electrical control systems.
Specify components for products and systems, including those used in commercial and industrial and related power distribution.
Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility and suitability of designs and applications.
Communicate with the sales organization and directly with customers to discuss product and system design, performance, and specifications.
Coordinate with onsite manufacturing personnel to ensure products and systems conform to engineering designs and customer specifications.
Develop production documentation and drawings using SolidWorks Electrical and other electrical CAD tools.
Coordinate efforts to maintain compliance with relevant agencies and standards, including ETL, UL, and NEC.
Respond to field service issues by providing timely engineering support and practical solutions.
Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve product quality, innovation, and responsiveness to customer needs.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with electrical panel layout and schematic design.
Experience with ladder logic programming and system testing and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with electrical CAD tools, including SolidWorks Electrical or similar platforms.
Knowledge of electrical power distribution principles and design.
Ability to learn and apply variable frequency drives (VFDs) for motor control applications.
Understanding of and experience working with UL and NEC standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using ERP software in an engineering or manufacturing @context.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively and professionally with internal teams and external customers.
Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, custom manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using SolidWorks Electrical for developing production documentation and drawings.
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical CAD platforms.
Hands-on experience with control panel design, including schematics and panel layout.
Familiarity with PLC programming and integration of control systems.
Experience with VFD setup, configuration, and application in motor control systems.
Knowledge of compliance requirements and coordination with agencies such as ETL, UL, and NEC.
Strong analytical skills for reviewing customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals.
Ability to collaborate across departments, including sales, engineering, and manufacturing.
Comfort working with electronic control systems for commercial and industrial refrigeration.
Interest in contributing to innovative, high-quality refrigeration products and continuous improvement initiatives. #ACTmneng26

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
