Job Title: Electrical Drafter / DesignerJob Description
The Electrical Drafter / Designer supports the design and documentation of control systems and electrical assemblies. You will create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and documentation, working closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate, complete, and up-to-date design information. Responsibilities
Create and update detailed electrical schematics and drawings for control systems and electrical assemblies.
Redline and revise existing drawings based on engineering feedback and design changes.
Develop new drawings and documentation for electrical systems, including control panels and system-level layouts.
Assist with Bills of Materials (BOMs), including part numbering, organization, and documentation control.
Support system-level and control panel drawing efforts to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and consistent with standards.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to verify the accuracy, completeness, and clarity of all electrical drawings and documentation.
Interpret existing technical drawings and update them to reflect design revisions, improvements, and field changes.
Produce and maintain P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and single-line diagrams as required for projects.
Ensure all drafting work aligns with electrical drafting principles, industry standards, and internal design practices.
Contribute to a product and hardware-focused environment by supporting the documentation needs of controls, motors, drives, and related systems.
Essential Skills
3+ years of electrical drafting experience (flexible for strong entry-level candidates with relevant skills).
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical for creating and updating schematics and drawings.
Strong understanding of electrical drafting principles and electrical schematics.
Experience creating and updating P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and single-line diagrams.
Experience with control systems, control panels, or similar hardware in product or hardware-based environments.
Ability to interpret, redline, and update technical drawings with a high level of accuracy.
Exposure to controls, motors, drives, or similar electrical systems.
Background in industries such as robotics, automotive (e.g., advanced manufacturing environments), or oil and gas / industrial equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in robotics environments, supporting automated systems and equipment.
Experience in automotive or advanced manufacturing environments, including high-tech production facilities.
Experience in oil and gas or industrial equipment industries, particularly with complex control systems.
Familiarity with both AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical is a plus.
Exposure to electrical engineering concepts and practices in a product-focused setting.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, growing company with a startup-style culture.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role with core hours of approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines. You will work in a fun, startup-style environment that emphasizes strong company culture, collaboration, and being part of a growing organization in its earlier phases. The work centers on product and hardware-based control systems and electrical assemblies, using tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
