Manufacturing Technician

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation:
$30.00 per hour
9/80 work schedule Monday - Thursday 8-5:30, and every other Friday 8-4:30
Overview
This client is a manufacturer of electrical propulsion systems for aerospace. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will assemble proto@types to support New Product Introductions and to validate manufacturing processes. This will include reading blueprints, schematics and other technical drawings. You'll also inspect parts used in the assemblies and inspect finished assemblies.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical assembly of permanent magnet electric motors, controllers, housings, attaching printed circuit board assemblies and related cables and wiring harnesses.
Visual and dimensional inspection of components prior to assembly and completed assembly
Support manufacturing engineering with validation of new processes and new capital equipment or proto@types for New Product Introduction (NPI)
Documentation in support of AS9100 QMS
Perform Preventive Maintenance on production machinery
Kit material for work orders
Perform daily 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain) of manufacturing cells
Follows all safe work practices & safety rules
All other duties as assigned by the Sr Manager of Operations
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma, technical training
2+ years of mechanical assembly from blueprints, required
Any experience installing or building wire harnesses, and PCBs is a plus
Ability to dimensionally inspect parts using calipers, micrometers or other measuring devices and own work required.
Proficient use of hand tools & power tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and other technical/engineering documentation
Basic mathematical skills
Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Extreme attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50lbs).
Ability to stand for long durations.
Other Pluses
Associate Degree in STEM, manufacturing technology, electronics, or related
Working knowledge/certification of IPC 610, 620, OR J-STD-001
Operation of CNC Lathe, Mill or other tool room equipment (grinders, sanders)
Working knowledge AS9100 aerospace standards
