Job Description:
The Safety Technician is an entry-level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional who supports safety programs and promotes safe work practices across manufacturing operations. In this role, you maintain an active presence on the production floor, assist with hazard identification and mitigation, support regulatory compliance, and help deliver safety training under the guidance of senior safety personnel. Your work directly contributes to an injury-free workplace through daily inspections, employee engagement, and continuous improvement of safety processes.
Responsibilities:
Conduct daily safety inspections throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and facility operations to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Identify, document, and report unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, and potential hazards in a timely and accurate manner.
Correct minor safety hazards immediately when appropriate and within the scope of responsibility.
Assist with new employee safety orientation and onboarding activities to ensure awareness of safety policies and procedures.
Support incident investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and assisting with implementation of corrective actions.
Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) files and other required safety documentation to support compliance and employee access to information.
Conduct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance audits and provide coaching and feedback to employees as needed.
Perform routine fire extinguisher inspections and maintain accurate inspection records.
Assist with hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and occupational health programs as directed by senior safety personnel.
Participate in monthly Safety Committee meetings and support safety improvement initiatives and action items.
Build positive working relationships with production personnel and promote employee involvement in safety programs and initiatives.
Conduct housekeeping inspections and verify compliance with workplace organization and cleanliness standards.
Inspect emergency response equipment, eyewash stations, fire protection systems, and related safety equipment to ensure readiness and compliance.
Assist with planning, delivering, and documenting employee safety training and awareness programs.
Maintain accurate inspection records, audit reports, training documentation, and compliance records in accordance with company requirements.
Support internal and external safety audits and regulatory compliance activities as needed.
Assist with hazard assessments and risk reduction initiatives to improve overall workplace safety performance.
Essential Skills:
Experience or exposure to safety, health, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices.
Understanding of OSHA and basic safety regulations relevant to manufacturing and industrial environments.
Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and PPE compliance checks.
Capability to assist with safety training and employee orientation activities.
Basic computer knowledge to maintain records, reports, and documentation.
0-3 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, construction, military, or related environments.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document findings and maintain records.
Effective communication skills to coach employees and build positive working relationships.
High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field preferred.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience with safety management practices and participation in safety committees is beneficial.
Familiarity with hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and occupational health programs is an advantage.
Previous involvement in incident investigations and corrective action follow-up is helpful.

Work Environment:
The work environment centers on manufacturing operations that provide environmental and sound-attenuating packaging for on-site power generation and ancillary equipment, ranging from cost-effective factory-like enclosures to heavy-duty, industrial-ready units and fueling systems.
You spend significant time on the production floor, in warehouse areas, and within facility operations while performing inspections, audits, and safety-related tasks.
The setting involves typical industrial conditions, including exposure to machinery, equipment, and varying noise levels, where proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures are essential.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
