Job Title: Industrial Painter Job Description
This role is responsible for priming and painting large steel and metal parts to precise customer specifications using airless spray equipment. You will apply paint, epoxy, and other protective or decorative coatings to a variety of products while maintaining high quality standards and adherence to safety procedures.
Responsibilities
Prime and paint large steel and metal parts according to customer specifications and internal quality standards.
Use airless spray equipment and spray guns to apply paint, epoxy, and other protective or decorative coatings to various products.
Perform paint preparation activities, including cleaning, masking, and surface preparation of parts prior to painting.
Follow a weekly rotation in which four days are dedicated to painting and one day is dedicated to mixing paint, completing related paperwork, and organizing and storing paint as it arrives.
Ensure proper mixing and handling of paint and coating materials to achieve correct color, consistency, and coverage.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to paint usage, work orders, and job completion.
Inspect painted parts for quality, coverage, and defects, and make necessary touch-ups or corrections.
Handle and move materials and parts safely within the shop as needed to support painting and shipping operations.
Keep the painting area, equipment, and tools clean, organized, and in good working condition.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to industrial painting, material handling, and working in a shop environment.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of industrial painting experience, preferably with airless spray equipment.
Proficiency using spray guns and airless spray systems for industrial painting applications.
Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to specifications.
Ability to perform paint preparation tasks such as cleaning, masking, and surface prep.
Capability to follow written and verbal instructions, including customer specifications and work orders.
Comfort working with industrial paints, epoxies, and other coatings in a shop environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous material handling experience is a plus.
Experience working with large industrial or structural components is beneficial.
Ability to organize paint inventory and maintain accurate paperwork related to paint usage.
Willingness to support shipping and related shop activities as needed.

Work Environment
This position is based in a shop environment that handles very large pieces, with blast booths located on one end of the facility and painting and shipping operations on the other. The area is well lit to support detailed painting work and has a noticeable but controlled paint smell throughout the facility. You will work around industrial painting equipment, blast booths, and material handling tools in a production-focused setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
