Farmingdale State College seeks an Administrative Coordinator for the Disability Services Center to provide comprehensive administrative support and ensure the smooth and efficient daily operation of the Center. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment for students with disabilities. The Coordinator will interact with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Office Management:

Manage the front desk, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.

Maintain office supplies and equipment, including ordering, inventory management, and troubleshooting.

Manage incoming and outgoing emails.

Maintain and organize physical and electronic files, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.

Coordinate scheduling for meetings, appointments, and events, including room reservations.

Develop and implement office procedures and systems to improve efficiency.

Student Support and Testing Center Support:

Assist students with disabilities in accessing services, including scheduling appointments, completing paperwork, requesting accommodations and navigating the registration process.

Provide information and resources to students regarding disability services, accommodations, and related policies.

Maintain confidential student records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA).

Communicate effectively with students, providing support and guidance as needed.

Assist with the testing center, including scheduling, proctoring and communication with faculty.

Communication and Collaboration:

Serve as a liaison between the Disability Services Center and other departments within the institution.

Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders regarding disability services and accommodations.

Maintain accurate records of communications and interactions.

Financial Management:

Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.

Process invoices and purchase orders.

Track expenses and maintain financial records.

Technology Support:

Utilize and maintain various software programs, including accommodate, word processing software, and assistive technology.

Provide technical support to professors, staff, and students as needed.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Knowledge of disability-related laws and regulations (e.g., ADA, Section 504).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree.

Proficiency in using Accommodate data management system.

Experience working with students with disabilities.

Experience working in higher education.

Experience proctoring exams in a testing center.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time UUP position.

For the first 10 working days, beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and ending Monday, September 21, 2026, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

SALARY: $51,261 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $55,261 Total Compensation
