Work Schedule : Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Ally Internship Program guides and mentors students with development opportunities and experiences that support your career interests while also driving the business forward. You'll have the opportunity to connect with diverse teams and functions across the company. You will interact with Ally's leadership and learn from their personal successes. You will gain the experience to know what it means to be an Ally!
The Work Itself
As part of our Internship Program, you will have an opportunity to:
Have hands on experience and project-based work
Attend Orientation, Executive Speaking Series, and learning sessions as an Intern cohort
Participate in Mentoring Program and Giving Back Events Network with your peers, your team, and those Allys you find interesting
Lead an end of assignment presentation
The Details:
Internship Program Timing: May 21 - July 31, 2027 (tentative)
40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
Project-based work
Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.
The Finance internship is comprised of teams responsible for financial reporting and analysis for Auto, Insurance, and other Finance teams at Ally. Responsibilities will vary across each team, but will allow you to apply your classroom knowledge in a real world setting. The CFO interns will have the opportunity to:
Summarize and analyze financial data
Develop skills related to financial analysis, data analytics and reporting, and effective communication
Attend formal company orientation and training
Participate in executive speaking series
Have hands on experience in area of study; as well as participate in project-based work
Participate in an Employee Resource Group mentoring program
Lead an end of assignment presentation
Leadership and career development
Networking opportunities
Areas of Opportunity:
Corporate Treasury - activities supporting optimization of Ally's balance sheet, funding, and liquidity, as well as compliance related to capital and liquidity regulatory requirements
Enterprise FP&A / Investor Relations - financial planning, analysis and reporting of actual financial results and operational metrics for enterprise functions and consolidated results
Consumer Bank Finance - financial planning, analysis and reporting for consumer and commercial banking business
Dealer Financial Services Finance - financial planning, analysis and reporting for auto and insurance businesses
Finance Transformation - transformational value creation, delivering high-value business outcomes through data, advanced analytics and forecasting
The Skills You Bring
Required Qualifications:
A rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program
Majoring in Finance or taking finance courses
Well-rounded in academics, volunteering, and fun!
Eager to challenge the status quo
Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI or Tableau
Previous internship experience, extracurricular activities, and leadership experience is preferred
Candidates should reside in a commutable distance from the Ally location to which they are assigned
A passion for the financial services and technology industry is strongly preferred

Base Pay Range
$25.00 - $29.00
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications.
