Your key responsibilities
As a Business Valuation Summer Associate, you will use your unique insight to supply tailored advice to clients from all industries. Working on everything from pre-deal to post-deal, you'll build an incredible base of experience that will set you apart for the rest of your career - all with the support of some of the top colleagues in the business. You will work on the leading edge of transformational deals that make headlines, experience an exciting variety of work in an entrepreneurial environment and develop into a leader. Your work will help transform companies, and the depth and breadth of experiences you will have will help transform you into a trusted business advisor. You will be part of a larger Valuation Solutions team that creates and delivers broad, analytics-enabled solutions that align to our client's focus on corporate finance, strategy, buy and integrate or sell and separate decisions, and reshaping of results. key responsibilities include developing detailed financial models, providing tailored valuation advice on both tangible and intangible assets, and more.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have:
A predicted degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.
The expectation for this role is in person teaming, at client site or in an EY office, a minimum of 60% of the time or on average 3 days a week over the course of an engagement, project or performance year.
Ideally, you will have:
A preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
A genuine interest in financial strategy and a constantly updating understanding of current trends and issues.
Strong MS office skills, especially when modeling using Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by the confidence to work effectively in a high-energy, fast-moving environment.
The ability to influence colleagues and communicate complex concepts simply and effectively to non-technical audiences.
Exposure to discounted cash flow (DCF) valuation methodology.
Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

The hourly pay range for this job, in the US, is $42.31 to $48.08 per hour. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
