Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Manager to lead facility expansion, capital improvement, and industrial construction projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will oversee contractors, coordinate project activities, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and proven experience managing complex industrial construction projects from initial planning through final completion.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day execution of industrial construction and facility expansion projects within an active manufacturing environment.
Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
Monitor project budgets, schedules, and change orders while identifying, communicating, and mitigating potential risks.
Coordinate construction activities with engineering, operations, facilities, and other project stakeholders to minimize disruption and maintain alignment.
Lead regular site walks, project meetings, and progress reviews to assess status, resolve issues, and drive timely decision-making.
Review contractor submittals, RFIs, project documentation, and punch list items to verify compliance with design, safety, and quality requirements.
Promote and enforce site safety initiatives and OSHA compliance, maintaining a strong safety culture across all project activities.
Track project progress and provide clear, timely updates to leadership teams and key stakeholders.
Support project closeout activities, ensuring that final deliverables, documentation, and turnover packages meet project requirements.
Manage construction inspection activities and ensure quality standards are met across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process utility installations.
Coordinate multi-trade work including concrete, masonry, asphalt, piping, instrumentation, fittings, carpentry, and hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Oversee installation activities for mechanical, electrical, and process utility systems within active manufacturing facilities.
Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to guide construction supervision and field execution.
Lead and supervise construction crews and subcontractors, providing direction, resolving field issues, and maintaining productivity.
Support estimation and change order processes, including cost impacts, schedule implications, and negotiation with contractors.
Essential Skills
7+ years of construction management experience within industrial, manufacturing, energy, heavy commercial, or capital project environments.
Proven experience managing general contractors, subcontractors, budgets, schedules, and overall project execution.
Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and OSHA regulations, with a demonstrated ability to enforce compliance.
Experience coordinating multi-trade activities including civil, mechanical, electrical, and process utility work.
Hands-on experience with change order management, estimation, and cost control practices in construction projects.
Proficiency in concrete, masonry, asphalt, and general civil construction methods and inspection.
Experience with piping, instrumentation, fitting, and installation activities in industrial settings.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents.
Background in commercial and industrial construction supervision, including field oversight and quality control.
Experience leading projects involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, and carpentry work.
Experience managing projects in active manufacturing facilities, coordinating work around ongoing operations.
Strong experience with contractor negotiations, change management, and cost controls.
OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
Working knowledge of project management software and construction management platforms.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience supporting manufacturing facility expansions or large-scale capital projects.
Background in steel, energy, chemical, battery manufacturing, heavy industrial, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Experience leading projects involving mechanical, electrical, and process utility installations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, facilities, and executive leadership teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse stakeholders and providing clear project updates.

Work Environment
This is a day-shift role structured as a 9+ month contract within an active industrial manufacturing and construction environment focused on facility expansion and capital improvement projects. The Construction Manager will divide time between field work and project coordination activities, working closely with contractors, project teams, engineers, and operations personnel. The position requires frequent jobsite walks, contractor oversight, project meetings, and coordination of multiple construction activities occurring simultaneously. You should be comfortable working around heavy equipment, active construction zones, varying weather conditions, and operational manufacturing areas, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and disciplined project execution. The environment offers significant visibility and leadership responsibility within a large-scale industrial expansion project.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
