What We're Doing
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Regional team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System. protecting both the United States and its allies. This large, fast paced team, is composed of many small agile teams working together dynamic environment with a common mission to develop and deploy leading-edge missile defense technologies.
The Work
The C2BMC-Regional Application (RA) Agile Release Train (ART) is seeking an algorithm software engineering lead that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the design, development, and testing of the C2BMC applications. Common responsibilities of an algorithm software engineer on the RA ART team include:
Lead design and development new algorithms within the C2BMC Track Server application
Add capability to existing software and algorithms within the Track Server application
Analyze, test, and verify algorithm design and performance
Support software testing and resolution of issues from multiple baselines
Perform in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution
Works from system specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications
Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs
Interface with other system support groups
Generate software design artifacts and support design and code reviews

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in software / computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6+ years of professional experience.
Must currently hold an ACTIVE DoD Final Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position.
Demonstrated understanding of data fusion techniques, sensor discrimination/classification of objects, and AI/ML classification techniques.
Demonstrated experience in design, development, testing, and documentation of complex mathematical algorithms.
Demonstrated experience in data analysis of complex algorithms and software, including utilizing metrics and visualizations to ensure product performance.
Experience with strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review system behavior issues, identify root cause and recommend a solution.
The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently, and be able to work in a highly dynamic environment
Candidate will need to be able to work with multiple disciplinary teams including Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Deployment and Warfighter Support to help ensure mission success.
Desired Skills
Experience in the following:
Data Fusion techniques, AI/ML Classification techniques, Sensor Discrimination, Signal Processing, Kalman Filtering
Understanding of radar track states and data
Utilizing whitepapers, algorithm design documents, or other standalone design to develop and improve Java based real-time algorithms
Understanding of design, development, and optimization of real-time Java applications
Agile Development Experience
Missile Defense Domain experience
Developing new capabilities into a legacy software system
Development of complex mathematical algorithms from design documents
SW analysis against performance requirements
Resolving cyber/security issues identified by Fortify/SonarQube/etc
Familiarity with DevSecOps, Build and test pipelines, Gitlab, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle
Automated unit testing frameworks
Pay Information
GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $150800.00 - $280000.00
Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $135700.00 - $251900.00
Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $120600.00 - $224000.00
Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $108600.00 - $201600.00
Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Ocala, FL; Lufkin, TX; etc.

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
