About the Role

Robert Half is seeking an organized and compassionate Administrative Assistant for a contract opportunity with a nonprofit organization in Sleepy Hollow, New York. This role is ideal for an administrative professional who enjoys supporting mission-driven work and helping a team operate efficiently while serving the community.

The Administrative Assistant will provide daily administrative support, coordinate office operations, and assist staff with a variety of projects and communications.

Responsibilities

Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and visitor inquiries

Greet donors, volunteers, clients, and guests in a professional and welcoming manner

Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments

Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting materials

Maintain electronic and paper filing systems

Perform data entry and maintain accurate organizational records

Assist with event planning, volunteer coordination, and community outreach efforts

Process incoming and outgoing mail

Order office supplies and coordinate office logistics

Support leadership and staff with administrative projects and day-to-day operations

Requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

2+ years of administrative support experience

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience supporting a nonprofit organization

Experience coordinating events, volunteers, or community programs

Familiarity with donor databases, CRM systems, or nonprofit software platforms

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday

Standard business hours

Contract assignment with potential for extension based on organizational needs
