Do you enjoy collaborating with others to create innovative products and services? As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will take an active role in shaping the manufacturability of our products. You will apply your expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), tooling design, and process engineering to develop and optimize manufacturing systems, ensuring products are designed for efficient, high-quality production from the start.
Responsibilities:
Provides expertise on manufacturability, ensuring the design can be produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and reliably for flight-critical systems.
Familiar with Avionics Testing and compliance requirement
Manufacturing Experience in Avionics functions, installation and certification.
Process Documentation and development experience relating to Avionics
Able to evaluate and challenge the original design, per IPC/WHMA-A-620
Understand Harness assembly and production technics such as Soldering / IPC J-STD-001
Confirm the design withstand the environment it will be subjected
Familiar with Avionics wire harness building, routing, connections, installation of components and system checks.
Familiar with Certification & Compliance of FAA, DoD, EWIS, AS50881, TO 1-1A, IPC/WHMA-A-620 or other regulatory/certification requirements for aerospace/defense
Familiar with FAI requirements in AS9102 and AS9100 quality management system
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline.
2+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and process documentation.
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience with CATIA and harness/wire routing tools like Capital/Zuken E3
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Capable of working in multi-disciplinary teams
Knowledge of and Background in Aerospace industry and standards
Working experience with activities in the Defense Industry
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
Familiarity in applying and interpreting EWIS standards in aircraft manufacturing and certifications
Knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing processes
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline, and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems
Ability to understand and create Process Development and Documentation
Comprehensive understanding of Engineering Drawings, EBOM & MBOM, Build/Routing Sequence, Process Flow and Producibility checks
Familiarity in applying and interpreting EWIS standards in aircraft manufacturing and certifications
Essential Functions:
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.
