Work Environment
Fully onsite position supporting the Vascular Surgery team. This is a fast-paced medical practice requiring dependable attendance and direct patient interaction. Candidates must be comfortable working hands-on with patients and supporting both front office and clinical operations. Flexibility to float to other locations as needed is required.

About the Role
The Medical Office Assistant supports providers, patients, and clinical staff by coordinating front office operations and assisting with patient care activities. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient patient flow, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, maintaining accurate medical records, and delivering outstanding patient service. The role combines administrative responsibilities with clinical support in a busy specialty practice.
Key Responsibilities
Check patients in and out and provide exceptional customer service.
Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits.
Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations.
Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system.
Assist providers with patient preparation, examinations, and minor procedures.
Perform patient screenings and support preventive care initiatives.
Collect and process patient specimens and laboratory documentation.
Support medication refill requests and specialty referrals.
Conduct telephone screening and document patient interactions.
Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and regulatory compliance standards.
Assist with patient discharge activities and provide patient education.
Participate in team huddles, meetings, and training programs.
Support population health and patient engagement initiatives.
Float to other locations within the system as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
2-4 years of experience as a Medical Office Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant, or similar healthcare role.
Experience checking patients in and out of a medical practice.
Experience scheduling patient appointments.
Insurance verification and prior authorization experience.
Hands-on patient interaction experience.
EMR experience and strong computer skills.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Reliable attendance and dependability.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
