Job Description
This mid-level Industrial Electrician role focuses on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation systems in a food processing environment. You will work with industrial controls, PLCs, and high-voltage systems, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical control wiring, lighting systems, and related industrial electrical equipment.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to perform work in accordance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, and other industrial electrical components.
Use electrical testing devices and meters to identify and verify electrical problems and system performance.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
Conduct regular inspections to determine whether repair, adjustment, or replacement of electrical components is necessary.
Work with industrial controls and instrumentation, including calibration and maintenance of control devices and instrumentation systems.
Support PLC-based control systems, including basic programming, adjustments, and troubleshooting, particularly with Allen-Bradley platforms.
Ensure all work adheres to safety policies, NEC regulations, and building codes to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
Use appropriate protective equipment and follow safe work practices at all times while performing electrical tasks.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory of parts and materials.
Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records in accordance with company procedures.
Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to electrical and control issues outside of regular working hours as needed.
Essential Skills
In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including PLCs and high-voltage systems.
Strong proficiency in electrical troubleshooting for industrial equipment and controls.
Ability to read, analyze, and apply schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams in daily work.
Proficient use of hand and power tools, as well as electrical testing meters and diagnostic equipment.
Solid understanding of industrial controls and instrumentation, including calibration and maintenance.
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, with familiarity in Allen-Bradley platforms.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose complex electrical and control issues.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience working as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing or processing environment.
State certification or license as required for industrial electrical work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Completion of an electrical apprenticeship is preferred.
Experience in a food processing environment and familiarity with the unique requirements of that industry.
Hands-on experience with instrumentation controls and industrial controls and instrumentation.
Background in calibration of instrumentation and control devices.
Allen-Bradley familiarity and programming experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and related hardware.
Strong analytical abilities to evaluate system performance and recommend improvements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, and adherence to procedures.

Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial food processing facility, working primarily Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. You will work around production equipment, electrical panels, instrumentation devices, and PLC-based control systems, frequently using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing meters. The environment requires strict adherence to safety policies, NEC regulations, and building codes, with appropriate use of personal protective equipment. Work may involve standing for extended periods, working in proximity to moving machinery, and performing tasks in various areas of the plant where cleanliness and hygiene standards are important.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
