Job Title: General Laborer I Job Description
This entry-level role is based on a production line in a clean, multi-floor manufacturing facility. You rotate through several straightforward tasks such as packaging hardened blocks of laundry detergent and other chemical products, stacking boxes on pallets, placing caps on tubs, and assembling boxes. Over time, you can be trained to operate wrapping and filling machines and potentially progress into a chemical mixing role, offering a clear path for career growth.
Responsibilities
Work on a production line performing 3-4 rotating duties, including packaging hardened blocks of laundry detergent and other chemical blocks into boxes.
Stack boxed product onto pallets using equipment designed to reduce bending and physical strain.
Place caps on tubs moving down the production line, with the option to sit while performing this task.
Assemble and build boxes and product containers as needed for packaging operations.
Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with appropriate identifying information.
Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine work assignments, materials, and equipment requirements.
Record the number of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets.
Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment.
Sort cargo before loading and unloading to ensure proper organization and workflow.
Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut materials.
Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers to meet quality and safety standards.
Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks to the work area and return them after use.
Participate in daily cleaning and training activities, typically during the first and last hours of the shift.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain efficient operations.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED required.
0-2 years of experience in general labor, warehouse, or production roles.
At least 1 year of manufacturing production experience preferred, particularly in a chemical production environment.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds consistently throughout the day.
Ability to wear steel toe boots in the production area.
Verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions and document production information.
Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities to address routine production and packaging issues.
Ability to work as a team player and maintain a detail-oriented approach to tasks.
Comfort working with and around production equipment, tools, and packaging machinery.
Reliability in following schedules, work orders, and safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a chemical production environment is preferred but not required.
Experience with packaging, cleaning, loading, unloading, sorting, assembly, and palletizing tasks.
Familiarity with production processes and basic material handling equipment.
Awareness of equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies that support effective security and protection of people, data, property, and facilities.
Willingness to learn how to operate wrapping and filling machines and potentially advance into chemical mixing roles.
Ability to adapt to rotating duties and changing production needs.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean manufacturing facility with three floors, with this production area located on the bottom floor. Two of the three floors are climate controlled, providing a comfortable temperature for most work activities. The shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including three breaks: a morning break, a lunch break, and an afternoon break. Production typically runs for about six hours each day, with the first and last hours dedicated to cleaning and training. Work involves standing, light lifting up to 15 pounds, and wearing steel toe boots in the production area. Employees use standard material handling equipment and production tools in a well-organized, safety-conscious environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
