Type: Contract to Hire

Compensation: $60,000.00-$65,000.00/yr

Work Model: Onsite

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST

Overview

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced Human Resources department. This role will focus on employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, compliance, onboarding/offboarding, and HR process support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the Human Resources department.

Recruit, interview, and support the hiring process for open positions in partnership with hiring managers.

Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.

Support HR programs related to compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and training.

Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation and exit procedures.

Conduct background checks and employment eligibility verifications.

Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.

Monitor compliance with required training, certifications, and internal policies.

Process payroll-related functions and assist with HR reporting.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.

Support disciplinary actions, investigations, and employee relations matters.

Manage workers' compensation, short-term disability, and long-term disability processes.

Handle wage garnishments, liens, and court-ordered wage assignments.

Coordinate employee separations, including COBRA notifications and exit interviews.

Prepare reports and assist with HR audits, compliance reviews, and special projects.

Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

Requirements

5+ years of Human Resources experience in a Generalist or similar role.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Strong knowledge of employee relations, talent acquisition, HRIS systems, and employment law compliance.

Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, workers' compensation, and leave administration.

Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.

High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems/software.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
