Position Description
The Naveen Jindal School of Management is seeking a non-tenure track Clinical Professor/Professor of Practice and Program Director to lead the Alliance for Physician Leadership ( APL ) program, a nationally recognized Healthcare Leadership & Management Executive MS/ MBA exclusively for physician leaders. The program's over 750 physician graduates currently occupy senior healthcare leadership roles throughout the United States. APL also offers healthcare certificate programs in partnership with healthcare systems for their emerging physician leaders. Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor rank, depending on experience.
The Program Director's role will be to collaborate with healthcare system leaders to assure program alignment with industry needs. The role collaborates on recruitment and selection of physicians and preservation of the program's strong, supportive culture. The incumbent will also be expected to play an active role in program design and teaching; assuring program quality and financial success; coaching and mentoring aspiring physician leaders; recruiting and retaining appropriate faculty; and managing program staff. Extensive experience in healthcare leadership and operations and familiarity with current physician leadership issues are essential for this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate classes in Healthcare Administration. Curriculum oversight and ensuring that AACSB , university and school requirements are achieved, contributing assessment information and data as requested with an emphasis in sustainable practices.
The preferred starting date is November 2026, teaching duties commence for the spring 2027 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A MS or equivalent in Healthcare Administration, Medical Management or a related discipline is required prior to employment. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
Preferred Education and Experience: PhD, MD or DO in Healthcare Administration, Medical Management or a related field. Substantial industry experience (at least five to ten years) in healthcare administration and familiarity with current physician leadership issues is strongly preferred and will weigh heavily in the review process.

The UT Dallas Executive Education area focuses on the education of working professionals through specialized corporate programs or certificate and degree options including Executive MBA and Executive MS options.
Degree emphasis and certificate topics include global marketing, healthcare, leadership, organizational consulting, project management, strategy, strategic human resources, supply chain. Corporate programs are typically customized to meet the needs of the client.
