Job Description
The Line Maintenance A&P Mechanic performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on commercial aircraft in a fast-paced airport and hangar environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, and returning aircraft to service while strictly adhering to FAA regulations, company procedures, and manufacturer maintenance manuals. Work is typically performed at the gate, on the ramp, or in line maintenance facilities between flight operations, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and minimizing aircraft downtime.
Responsibilities
Perform pre-flight, transit, overnight, and post-flight inspections on commercial aircraft.
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems, including airframe structures, turbine engines and APUs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, flight controls, and landing gear and brake systems.
Diagnose and correct aircraft discrepancies ("squawks") reported by flight crews.
Remove, install, test, and adjust aircraft components and assemblies to ensure proper operation.
Perform routine servicing tasks such as fluid replenishment, tire changes, and lubrication.
Conduct scheduled maintenance in accordance with FAA requirements and approved maintenance manuals.
Complete accurate logbook entries, maintenance records, and return-to-service documentation.
Coordinate with Maintenance Control, Operations, and Flight Crews to communicate aircraft status and maintenance progress.
Follow all safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company maintenance procedures at all times.
Respond to Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations to quickly identify issues and return aircraft to service with minimal delay.
Support line maintenance activities on the ramp, at the gate, and in hangar facilities as required.
Apply technical manuals by reading, interpreting, and following procedures to perform maintenance correctly.
Use personal tools and equipment responsibly and maintain them in proper working order.
Contribute to a culture of urgency and reliability to ensure aircraft are returned to service safely and efficiently.
Essential Skills
Valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
Minimum of 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, with a preference for 10+ years.
Demonstrated line maintenance experience on commercial or other aircraft platforms.
Experience responding to AOG situations and working in a high-urgency environment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair airframe, powerplant, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, flight control, and landing gear systems.
Capability to perform inspections and scheduled maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations and maintenance manuals.
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and following technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
Experience with commercial aircraft line maintenance, including Boeing and Airbus models such as B717, B737, B747, B767, A319, A320, A321, and A300.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent operational demands.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with Maintenance Control, Operations, and Flight Crews.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Supervisor or lead experience in aircraft maintenance.
Aircraft heavy maintenance experience, including hangar, MRO, and C & D check maintenance, considered on a case-by-case basis.
Broad commercial aircraft experience preferred, but experience on other platforms will be considered.
Experience with aircraft modification work on commercial and Airbus/Boeing fleets.
Ownership of a complete set of personal tools suitable for aircraft maintenance; tools must be stored in a box, but shadowing and etching are not required.
Flexibility to work different shifts as operational needs evolve, including potential second and third shifts.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
