Job Title: Construction Project Engineer
Job Description
The Project Engineer supports large-scale electrical construction projects across industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare, data center, and other mission-critical markets. This role works closely with Project Managers and field leadership to drive project planning, administration, financial performance, documentation, customer communication, procurement, labor planning, and project closeout activities. The position offers exposure to complex electrical systems, advanced technologies, and a clear pathway into project management within a growing, safety-focused construction organization.
Responsibilities
Support project planning, execution, and closeout activities for large-scale electrical construction projects.
Contribute to project profitability through cost tracking, labor monitoring, procurement coordination, and buyouts.
Prepare, manage, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
Maintain accurate and organized project files and documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Review construction drawings and specifications, identify and document project deficiencies, changes, and schedule impacts.
Assist in developing construction management plans, project workflows, and processes that support efficient project delivery.
Participate in project meetings with customers, contractors, architects, vendors, and internal teams to support coordination and communication.
Promote and reinforce a safe, productive, and quality-focused culture on project sites.
Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance project efficiency, cost control, and overall competitiveness.
Support contract administration activities related to electrical construction projects.
Coordinate scheduling activities and help ensure alignment between office planning and field execution.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in the construction industry, including direct support of construction projects.
Experience supporting construction projects in a fast-paced environment.
Foundational knowledge of project management and construction management principles.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction setting and adapt to changing project priorities.
Strong skills in project coordination, including scheduling, documentation, and communication.
Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation processes.
Understanding of cost control, budgeting, and labor monitoring for construction projects.
Ability to review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining project files and documentation.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience with data center, semiconductor, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical projects is a plus.
Familiarity with digital construction management platforms and tools.
Experience in cost tracking, contract administration, and construction project coordination.
Knowledge of advanced electrical construction systems and technologies is beneficial.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification preferred.
Work Environment
This is a full-time role based primarily onsite at project locations and construction offices in a fast-paced construction setting. The typical schedule is approximately 50-60 hours per week, reflecting the demands of large-scale, mission-critical projects. The work involves a combination of office-based project administration and active project-site support, with frequent interaction with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and leadership. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
