Responsibilities
Perform routine to complex field inspection and testing of construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, soils, and masonry, to verify conformance with construction plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
Serve as a lead technician on large commercial, industrial, and data center projects, providing field leadership, coordination, and support to other technicians as needed.
Travel to and work on large construction sites across the country for the full duration of assigned projects, often for extended periods away from home.
Conduct field tests using appropriate methods and equipment, including nuclear gauges, to evaluate material properties and document results accurately.
Interpret test results and compare them to project specifications and standards, promptly communicating any nonconformances to project stakeholders.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, owners' representatives, general contractors, and subcontractors on site.
Follow established safety protocols, including nuclear gauge and radiation safety procedures, while working on active construction sites and around heavy equipment.
Maintain detailed and accurate field records, test reports, and documentation for all inspections and material tests performed.
Support training and mentorship of other technicians by sharing field knowledge and best practices on existing and new project sites.
Adapt to changing project needs, schedules, and locations, including working overtime and adjusting to varying site conditions and timelines.
Participate in project startup activities, including mobilization to new sites and integration into existing project teams.
Uphold high standards of professionalism, reliability, and quality control while representing the organization at client job sites.
Essential Skills
Experience performing field inspection and testing of construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, soils, and masonry, on commercial or industrial projects.

Proven dependability, flexibility, and comfort working in a traveling role on long-term projects across multiple locations.

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I certification.
ACI Concrete Strength I qualification.
ICC Soils Special Inspector certification.
ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification.
ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector certification.
ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector certification.
Experience using nuclear gauges for soil and materials testing.
Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety training or qualification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience working on large data center projects or large-scale commercial and industrial developments.
Experience leading or mentoring other field technicians on complex construction projects.
Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance processes for construction materials testing.
Comfort adapting to different project teams, site cultures, and communication styles across multiple regions.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tests, documentation requirements, and daily field tasks.
Interest in long-term project assignments with the potential to extend into subsequent project phases.
Work Environment
This role is field-based and involves working full time on large, active construction sites across the country, with a primary focus on major data center and large commercial projects. The position requires extensive travel for the duration of each project, often involving long-term stays out of town, with opportunities to coordinate occasional long weekends at home when project schedules allow. The technician works closely with engineers, project managers, owners' representatives, general contractors, and subcontractors, and must be comfortable communicating with a wide range of field personnel. The environment includes outdoor work in varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and sun, and requires navigating busy job sites with heavy equipment and ongoing construction activities. The role typically involves overtime, and technicians receive per diem while traveling on projects. Individuals will initially train on existing data center projects in locations such as North Dakota and Texas before moving to new long-term projects, providing stable, ongoing work on high-profile, large-scale developments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
