Position Summary
The Vice President, Chief Supply Chain Officer is a mission-critical enterprise leader responsible for shaping, modernizing, and stewarding one of Atlantic Health's (AH) largest system-wide cost, quality, and resiliency platforms. This executive ensures that AH maintains a clinically integrated, financially disciplined, and operationally world-class supply chain that directly enables exceptional patient care, clinician satisfaction, and organizational performance.
This role is central to AH's ambition to be a highly-reliable, value-based, nationally recognized healthcare system. The VP leads transformation across sourcing, contracting, logistics, technology, and clinical alignment-driving measurable improvements in cost, quality, resiliency, and strategic readiness. As a key advisor to senior leadership, the VP ensures that supply chain strategy is fully aligned with AH's clinical, operational, and financial priorities.

Strategic Leadership
The VP serves as the enterprise architect of AH's supply chain strategy, responsible for:
Designing and executing a system-wide supply chain strategy that advances clinical excellence, operational reliability, and financial stewardship.
Acting as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO, COO, CFO, CMO, CNO, and hospital presidents on cost containment, value optimization, and long-term resiliency.
Leading transformation initiatives including standardization, digitization, automation, and advanced analytics to modernize the supply chain and elevate system performance.
Driving long-range planning for capacity, resiliency, and risk mitigation, ensuring AH is prepared for market volatility, supply disruptions, and emerging clinical needs.
Developing and executing a system-wide supply chain strategy aligned with clinical, operational, and financial priorities.
Leading supply chain transformation, including standardization, digitization, and automation initiatives.
Enterprise Operations & Performance Leadership
The VP oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including sourcing, contracting, procurement, inventory management, distribution, and logistics ensuring:
Reliable, uninterrupted supply availability for critical care, procedural, and acute care environments.
Optimization of inventory, distribution, logistics, and procurement to support high-reliability operations.
System-wide performance management through KPIs such as cost per case, fill rates, inventory turns, contract compliance, and service-level performance.
Deployment of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and improve throughput.
Clinical & Physician Alignment
The VP plays a pivotal role in strengthening AH's clinical integration by:
Partnering with physicians, nursing, and clinical leadership to drive evidence-based product standardization and utilization.
Leading and supporting clinical value analysis committees to ensure clinical quality, safety, and cost optimization.
Ensuring clinicians have a trusted, transparent, and data-driven partner in supply decision-making.
Financial Stewardship & Value Optimization
As a key driver of AH's financial performance, the VP lead supply, purchased services, and capital expense management strategies to achieve annual savings targets and margin improvement:
Leads system-wide supply, purchased services, and capital equipment expense management strategies to deliver annual savings, margin improvement, and total cost of ownership optimization.
Oversees contract negotiations, GPO strategy, and supplier performance to ensure maximum value and accountability.
Drives data-driven decision-making through analytics, benchmarking, and predictive modeling.
Supplier, Vendor & Market Strategy
The VP ensures AH maintains resilient, innovative, and strategically aligned supplier relationships by:
Building high-value and accountable partnerships with manufacturers, distributors, and GPOs.
Leading sourcing strategies that prioritize quality, innovation, cost, and supply continuity.
Managing vendor risk and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Technology, Data & Innovation Leadership
The VP is accountable for advancing AH's supply chain technology landscape by:
Leveraging cutting edge inventory automation technology.
Utilizing available cost benchmarking platforms that provide insights into cost savings opportunities.
Driving ERP optimization and integration with clinical and financial systems.
Implementing automation, RFID, advanced logistics models, and predictive analytics.
Ensuring AH has a modern, data-rich, and insight-driven supply chain platform.
People Leadership & Culture
The VP recognizes the important role leadership and influencing relationships play in driving results in a multi-site, complex, and high-performing health system:
Build diverse, accountable, service-oriented teams aligned with AH values.
Develop leadership bench strength and succession planning.
Foster a culture of trust, inclusion, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Develop business and influencing relationships with system executives, physician, and clinical leaders that is built upon trust and accountability.
Salary Range: $419,289 - $580,807 base salary only; excludes leadership incentive.
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
10-15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in large, complex healthcare systems
Demonstrated success driving large-scale cost savings, operational transformation, and clinical integration
Strong financial acumen and experience managing multimillion-dollar supply budgets
Experience in matrixed environments with strong physician and clinical collaboration
Preferred
Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related)
Certifications such as CMRP, CPSM, or CSCP
Experience with GPO strategy and enterprise ERP systems (Oracle, Workday, SAP)
