Job Description
This role supports a busy manufacturing warehouse by safely operating sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials throughout the facility. You will deliver raw materials and finished parts to machine operators, welders, assemblers, and other fabrication departments, helping keep production running efficiently and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse and production areas.
Use an overhead crane to safely unload trucks and stage materials in designated warehouse locations.
Pull materials from inventory and deliver them to machine operators, welders, assemblers, and other production workstations.
Support the small parts welding area by ensuring materials and components are available at the correct workstations when needed.
Move finished products from the small parts area to the next step in the production process or return them to the warehouse for storage.
Follow work orders and production schedules to ensure each department has the materials required to run efficiently.
Handle materials, boxes, pallets, and components in a safe and organized manner to maintain a clean and efficient work area.
Assist with general warehouse duties such as picking, packing orders, loading and unloading, and shipping and receiving activities.
Use RF scanners and other warehouse tools to track materials, verify shipments, and maintain accurate inventory records.
Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move products and supplies.
Support general production and manufacturing operations as needed, including general labor tasks.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Ability to safely use an overhead crane for unloading trucks and moving materials.
Material handling experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Experience with packaging, lifting boxes, and packing orders.
Background in production, general production, or manufacturing environments.
Experience with picking, loading, unloading, and general labor tasks.
Shipping and receiving experience, including handling inbound and outbound materials.
Experience using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
Forklift operating experience, including safe operation and adherence to safety procedures.
Ability to follow work orders and production schedules accurately.
Comfort working in an industrial shop environment alongside welders, machine operators, assemblers, and warehouse staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using RF scanners for inventory tracking and order processing.
Previous experience supporting welding, fabrication, or small parts areas in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with large-scale industrial or heavy manufacturing operations.
Ability to work flexible overtime hours, including occasional Saturdays during busy seasons.
Strong attention to detail and ability to organize materials for efficient workflow.
Willingness to assist across departments, including operators and other fabrication teams.
Work Environment
This is a direct-hire role in a busy industrial manufacturing environment that produces large vibratory equipment and conveyors for industries such as mining, construction, and oil and gas. The facility employs more than 50 people in the shop, including warehouse staff, heavy assemblers, machine operators (burn table, press brake, CNC), welders, and paint personnel. You will work with sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other standard warehouse and material handling equipment.
Standard hours for the material handler role are approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and for the warehouse role are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flexible overtime may run from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., depending on the job, and can include Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. during busy seasons; this overtime is flexible rather than mandatory. One current opening supports the "Big Fit" welding area, working closely with welders and other fabrication staff in an industrial shop setting. The environment is typical of a heavy manufacturing facility, with active production lines, large equipment, and a focus on safety and proper use of industrial tools and machinery.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $43680.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
