Job Title: Vol Manufacturing Carpenter
Job Description
The Vol Manufacturing Carpenter performs comprehensive repairs and modifications on mobile office trailers and modular buildings, including framing and finish carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting, and running gear. This role ensures that trailers meet quality standards and are ready for scheduled delivery, while also completing service tasks in the yard and occasionally at field locations as business needs require.
Responsibilities
Perform repairs on mobile office trailers, including framing and finish carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting, and running gear.
Carry out modifications and upgrades as requested by customers, ensuring work meets specified requirements and quality standards.
Ensure trailers are fully prepared and ready for scheduled delivery dates at the stated quality levels.
Perform service-related tasks in the yard, including general maintenance and repair activities on modular buildings and trailers.
Complete all required paperwork accurately for deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls.
Conduct HVAC system checks and routine maintenance in accordance with company guidelines.
Seal doors and windows to prevent leaks and improve energy efficiency.
Replace siding, repair and fix roof leaks, and perform exterior maintenance on trailers.
Replace floors, lay carpet, and perform interior finish work as needed.
Perform light electrical work, including basic repairs and maintenance on trailer systems.
Perform light plumbing work, including minor repairs and maintenance on water and waste systems.
Use tape measures and other hand tools safely and accurately to complete construction and repair tasks.
Read and interpret general floor plans to guide repair and modification work.
Work at field locations as assigned based on business needs, maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of construction experience, preferably in commercial construction.
Strong carpentry skills, including framing and finish work on modular buildings and trailers.
Ability to perform basic and light electrical repairs and maintenance.
Ability to perform basic and light plumbing repairs and maintenance.
Proficiency in drywall installation, repair, and finishing.
Ability to read and interpret general floor plans and construction drawings.
Skilled in painting and surface preparation for interior and exterior trailer components.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, including tape measures and common construction tools.
Capability to perform HVAC system checks and maintenance following company guidelines.
High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in commercial construction environments is preferred.
Broad construction skill set covering carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, and general repair.
Comfort working on running gear and other mechanical aspects of mobile office trailers.
Attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards and delivery deadlines.
Ability to complete paperwork accurately for deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls.
Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and repairing issues with modular trailers.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a yard and field environment.
Flexibility to perform duties at field locations as business needs require.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duncan, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
