Looking for a leadership role where you can influence accounting strategy, partner with executive leadership, and drive meaningful business decisions? We're seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead multiple accounting functions supporting a complex portfolio of government and commercial programs.
This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced accounting leader with deep expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition, government contracting, and financial reporting. You'll lead a multi-layer accounting organization, partner closely with Finance, FP&A, Program Finance, and Operations leadership, and play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational excellence.

What You'll DoLeadership & Business Partnership
Lead, mentor, and develop multiple accounting teams, including managers and direct contributors
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technical accounting, financial reporting, and contract-related matters
Partner closely with FP&A, Program Finance, Contracts, Operations, and Senior leadership teams to support strategic decision-making
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration across the accounting organization
Revenue Recognition & Contract Accounting
Oversee revenue recognition for a diverse portfolio of government and commercial contracts in accordance with ASC 606
Review contract terms and evaluate accounting treatment, financial risk, cash flow implications, and reporting requirements
Influence accounting outcomes throughout the contract lifecycle, including proposal, capture, negotiation, and award phases
Provide guidance on complex accounting transactions and non-routine business events
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
Oversee accounting functions including contract accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable, and related financial operations
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and other government contracting requirements
Support external audits, regulatory audits, and ongoing audit readiness initiatives
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Drive accounting process improvements and operational efficiencies across multiple functions
Strengthen reporting processes, controls, and departmental procedures
Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve scalability, accuracy, and effectiveness
Support organizational growth through best practices and innovative accounting solutions
QualificationsRequired
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
11+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Significant experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition
Strong background in government contract accounting
Experience overseeing multiple accounting functions and teams
Experience managing managers and leading multi-layer organizations
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, FAR, CAS, and internal controls
Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
Advanced Excel skills
Strong leadership, communication, and presentation abilities
Ability to navigate complex accounting issues and influence decision-making across the organization
Preferred
CPA, CMA, or MBA
Public accounting or Big Four experience
Manufacturing, aerospace, or defense industry experience
Experience working directly with government agencies on accounting-related matters
Knowledge of Warranty Accounting, Offset Accounting, or Cost Share Accounting
Experience leading large-scale process improvement or transformation initiatives

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
