Construction Accounting Leadership Opportunity in WALNUT CREEK, CA... APPLY NOW!

Join a growing electrical and low-voltage contractor specializing in building automation systems, structured cabling, and integrated technology solutions. We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the general ledger team, oversee full-cycle accounting operations, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with strong construction accounting experience who enjoys improving processes, developing teams, and partnering with leadership to drive business success.

Responsibilities

Lead the general ledger team and oversee full-cycle accounting operations

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and consolidations

Review balance sheet reconciliations and perform variance analysis

Support external audits and coordinate requested documentation

Analyze financial data and resolve complex accounting issues

Collaborate with finance leadership on strategic initiatives and reporting needs

Drive process improvements and workflow efficiencies

Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff

Support hiring, training, and performance management activities

Assist with special projects, system enhancements, and operational improvements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

10+ years of accounting experience

5+ years of Accounting Manager experience within a construction environment

Strong knowledge of general ledger and full-cycle accounting

Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Construction accounting expertise, including project accounting and job costing

Experience with AP, AR, and cash management processes

Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Experience supporting external audits

Excellent communication and team management abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Viewpoint Vista ERP

Background in electrical contracting, construction, or related industries

Experience leading process improvement initiatives

Building automation, building management systems, or structured cabling industry experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Walnut Creek, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
