Summary This position is located in the Board of Immigration Appeals, Executive Office for Immigration Review, U. S. Department of Justice. The incumbent coordinates administrative programs for the Board of Immigration Appeals, monitors program activities, analyzes operational issues, provides guidance, and recommends improvements to administrative support. Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities for a Administrative Specialist, GS-0341-9/11 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinating administrative programs in areas such as human resources, budget and finance, procurement, travel, records, facilities, training, security, telecommunications, and information resources. Evaluating administrative operations and supporting services to identify opportunities for improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Monitoring administrative actions and projecting requirements to ensure compliance with program guidance and established deadlines. Analyzing administrative data and operational trends to develop recommendations for improving processes and use of resources. Providing technical guidance on administrative regulations, policies, procedures, and program requirements. Preparing management reports and status information to support decisions and follow-up on administrative actions. Coordinating with internal offices, other government organizations, and vendors to address administrative requirements and operational issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for the Administrative Specialist position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: FOR THE GS-09 LEVEL: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks, full-time) of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (or comparable experience outside the Federal service), performing 3 or more of the following duties: Reviewing administrative program information to identify procedural issues affecting office operations; Tracking administrative requests or project actions through established processes to support timely completion; Monitoring procurement or property activities for compliance with established administrative procedures; and Coordinating administrative support with internal staff or external service providers to address routine operational needs. (Your resume must CLEARLY demonstrate this experience) -OR- Education: Applicants must have a master's OR equivalent graduate degree, OR two (2) full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or LL.B. or J.D. in a directly related field, that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
