Litigation Legal Secretary

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy commercial litigation and trial team in Los Angeles, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage court-related administrative work with accuracy, stay ahead of deadlines, and keep attorneys organized in a fast-paced legal environment. The role includes substantial support for litigation matters, with lighter assistance for an intellectual property attorney as needed.

Responsibilities: - Coordinate daily litigation support activities, including maintaining attorney calendars and tracking critical case deadlines. - Prepare, review, and process court filings with close attention to formatting, timing, and jurisdictional requirements. - Monitor court dockets to identify recent activity, confirm filed documents, and flag upcoming filing needs for the legal team. - Assist with the preparation and organization of pleadings and other litigation documents for attorney review and submission. - Arrange depositions and related scheduling logistics, working with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and court reporters as needed. - Handle administrative case support such as opening new matters and maintaining accurate matter records. - Process attorney expense reports in a timely and organized manner. - Provide flexible support across the commercial litigation and trial group, including limited assistance for intellectual property-related matters when required.

The pay range for this position is 25 to 32. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Working knowledge of litigation procedures, court filings, and pleadings.

Hands-on experience with e-filing in state and/or federal courts.

Ability to read and interpret court dockets and track filing deadlines accurately.

Strong calendar management and scheduling skills, including coordination of depositions.

Experience preparing draft legal documents from dictation or attorney instructions is preferred.

Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
