Description We are looking for a bilingual Legal Assistant to support a busy legal team serving clients in Los Angeles, California. This Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong administrative skills, sound judgment, and a client-centered approach to sensitive immigration-related matters. The role requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to create an organized and welcoming experience for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients by answering phone inquiries, gathering needed information, and providing timely follow-up on open matters.

Assist attorneys and legal staff with immigration-related case support while maintaining a respectful, empathetic approach in sensitive situations.

Maintain accurate paper and digital records, ensuring client documents are properly filed, updated, and handled with strict confidentiality.

Coordinate appointments, consultations, hearings, and internal meetings while tracking calendars and important deadlines.

Arrange language support for clients, including interpretation services and translation of statements or supporting documentation as needed.

Process incoming correspondence and mail, distributing materials promptly and organizing records for efficient case management.

Support a diverse client population with inclusive, culturally aware service that promotes trust and clear communication.

Help keep administrative workflows on schedule by monitoring outstanding items and following up on pending documentation. Requirements - Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Prior administrative experience in a legal, immigration, or similar office setting is preferred.

Ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism when assisting clients facing complex or highly personal matters.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and calendars effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information and exercise discretion in client-facing work.

Proficiency with standard office applications and electronic document management systems.

Familiarity with immigration law support, civil litigation environments, or calendar management is an asset.
