The Staff Accountant assists in month-end close activities, including but not limited to journal entries, operating expense/process order variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and reporting. Weekly responsibilities will be related to recording labor journal entries and work order variance analysis. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and a desire to independently identify the root cause of discrepancies, communicate their findings, and propose solutions or adjustments.

Job Description: 1. Performs cost accounting activities on SAP process orders a. Confirm PO confirmations b. Run weekly PO Settlement c. Prepare PO variance for Cost Manager Review 2. Prepare month-end journal entries, analysis, and reporting: a. Month-end accruals, amortizations, and adjustments b. Monthly inventory obsolescence and scrap material review c. Reconcile balance sheet accounts to accounting subledgers and update Blackline d. Analysis of operating expenses and production variances. 3. Performs weekly labor journal entry 4. Prepare monthly utility bills for review and posting, maintain utility detail worksheet 5. Perform ad hoc product/plant analysis to support product costing and to support operations 6. Provide support for annual audit. a. Support cycle count and year end physical inventory and spare parts inventory. b. Respond to audit requests 7. Project work as assigned 8. Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP 9. Follow PIM Brands GMP rules 10. Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMP's. 11. Ability to work additional hours as needed PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers for keyboard entry. Lifting and moving objects weighing at least 15 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office environment is well lighted and climate controlled. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement, and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting required - 1-2 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred - Ability to multi-task effectively - flexibility is essential - Detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level required (spreadsheet and analysis, filters, pivot tables, V look ups, etc.) - Willing to be trained - Ability to read, speak, and write English is essential.

The PIM Brands Manufacturing Site is located in Somerset, New Jersey

The PIM Brands Manufacturing Site is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Bachelors Degree in Accounting strongly preferred

1-2 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level required (spreadsheet and analysis, filters, pivot tables, V look ups, etc.)

Willing to be trained

Ability to read, speak, and write English is essential.
