Job Title: Warehouse Worker (Conversion) Job Description
This role supports a logistics and warehousing operation by coordinating purchase order requests, handling materials between buildings, and preparing parts and materials for assembly and shipment. You will work closely with shipping and handling personnel, use computer systems to manage material orders and shipping requests, and ensure parts are properly stored, sorted, and delivered in a timely and accurate manner. The position requires a hands-on, self-motivated individual who takes initiative to solve problems and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
Create purchase order requests in the logistics system and work with vendors to follow up on order status.
Coordinate and perform materials handling runs between buildings to ensure timely movement of parts and materials.
Collaborate with shipping and handling personnel to understand and meet requirements for international shipments.
Use computer systems to navigate material orders and shipping requests, and independently update and document order and shipment status.
Manage warehouse storage of parts and materials, including parts sorting and organizing palletized materials.
Pull parts and kit orders from AS/RS (High Rise) and other storage areas to prepare for service, subassembly, or engine assembly operations.
Deliver materials to assembly areas in an assembly-ready condition at the point of use.
Prepare parts for shipment, including packaging, banding, weighing, and related tasks to ensure safe and compliant transport.
Perform packing, inventory, picking, material handling, and shipping tasks as needed to support daily operations.
Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate inventory by properly labeling, storing, and tracking parts and materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with workplace standards and procedures.
Proactively identify issues in material flow, inventory, or shipping and take initiative to resolve them or escalate when needed.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
Hands-on experience with packing, inventory, picking, material handling, pallet jack operation, shipping, and general warehouse activities.
Ability to create and manage purchase order requests and follow up with vendors on order status.
Computer skills to navigate material order and shipping request systems, and to independently update and document status.
Experience with warehouse storage, including parts sorting and organizing palletized materials.
Ability to pull parts and kits from automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) or similar high-rise storage solutions.
Knowledge of preparing parts for shipment, including packaging, banding, and weighing.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking, inventory management, and shipment preparation.
Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
Self-motivated attitude with the ability to take action and problem solve as issues arise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with international shipping requirements in collaboration with shipping and handling personnel.
Familiarity with lean, organized warehouse environments where items are placed in clearly defined locations.
Comfort working in a large, older industrial building while maintaining high standards of organization and cleanliness.
Ability to adapt to varying operations, including service, subassembly, and engine assembly support.
Willingness to work occasional extended shifts (up to 10 hours) after training, as business needs require.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large, older industrial building that has been organized according to lean principles, with everything placed exactly where it needs to be for efficient workflow. The standard schedule is a first-shift role from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., typically working 8-hour days, with the possibility of 10-hour days once you are fully trained, depending on operational needs. You will work in a warehouse and logistics setting that includes automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), palletized materials, and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with clear locations for materials and a structured approach to storage and movement of parts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
