THE POSITION
Great leadership can set the pace for an entire hospital! As the Facility Chief Operating Officer with the Department of Human Services, you will take charge of essential administrative and support services that keep Wernersville State Hospital moving. This role offers the chance to build strong programs, solve problems and support a mission that truly matters. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role guides the administrative and non-clinical functions that keep the hospital running every day. It supports major operational decisions and ensures essential services are delivered well. As a Facility Chief Operating Officer, you will perform the following duties:
Administrative Oversight:Manage financial planning, procurement activities, and non-clinical support services across the facility
Policy Improvement:Review existing procedures and guide updates that strengthen operations and support the hospital's programs
Staff Leadership:Supervise managers, conduct evaluations, and ensure departments meet regulatory and operational requirements
Budget Management:Direct preparation of operating and capital budgets, as well as recommend resource allocation strategies
Contract Coordination:Negotiate agreements with vendors and agencies, as well as oversee contract performance and compliance
Regulatory Compliance:Monitor operations and surveys to ensure adherence to laws, safety standards, and quality expectations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six years of professional experience in budgeting, accounting, purchasing, human resources, or management methods work, including three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, and a bachelor's degree;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes three years of supervisory or managerial experience in budgeting, accounting, purchasing, human resources, or management methods work.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
