Seeking Accounts Receivable Clerk to support day-to-day receivables operations for a service-focused organization in Colma, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial data, and confident managing payment activity, account reconciliation, and customer communication. The role plays an important part in keeping records current, ensuring deposits and receipts are properly documented, and assisting with monthly and annual accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Apply and record incoming payments from multiple sources, including checks, cash, and credit card transactions, while maintaining accurate posting records.

Oversee recurring card payments, complete accounts receivable batch processing, and prepare remote deposits in a timely manner.

Reconcile daily receipt activity, deposits, and account balances to ensure financial records remain complete and accurate.

Address customer billing and payment questions, investigate discrepancies, and help resolve account-related concerns professionally.

Handle outgoing mail activity, including preparing correspondence and completing post office runs when required.

Monitor returned and non-sufficient-funds payments, update customer accounts, and document related transaction activity in Sage and internal tracking logs.

Produce customer statements, invoices, balance notices, and zero-balance communications according to established reporting timelines.

Review refund and cancellation transactions, confirm cleared checks against bank records, and communicate finalized activity to relevant internal teams.

Maintain organized financial documentation and provide support for audit preparation and year-end information requests.

Requirements

Experience in accounts receivable, cash application, billing, or related accounting support work.

Ability to reconcile payment activity, deposits, and customer account balances with strong attention to detail.

Working knowledge of commercial collections processes and customer payment follow-up.

Familiarity with accounting systems such as Sage and proficiency with spreadsheets used for tracking financial activity.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for responding to customer inquiries and coordinating with internal teams.

Ability to manage recurring transactions, batch processing, and documentation in a high-volume environment.

Dependable organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily, weekly, and month-end responsibilities effectively.
