Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records. In this role, you will support the organization by overseeing general ledger activity, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end close processes. You will work closely with leadership to monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting, leveraging your experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and a solid understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheet accounts.
Responsibilities
Maintain and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets.
Ensure financial records are accurate, up to date, and in compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with leadership.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data and account balances in a timely manner.
Maintain organized and complete financial documentation to support audits, internal reviews, and reporting requirements.
Assist with month-end close processes by posting journal entries, reviewing account balances, and preparing supporting schedules.
Collaborate with team members in the office to support ongoing financial operations and provide clear, accurate information as needed.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) preferred.
Proficiency with Excel preferred, including the ability to organize and analyze financial data.
Solid understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheet accounts.
Experience with account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial entries and reports.
Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Consistent attendance and strong reliability in an on-site work setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in bookkeeping or accounting support within a small business or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
Ability to communicate clearly with leadership and office team members about financial information.
Comfort working closely with company leadership in a small, tight-knit office environment.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify, research, and resolve financial discrepancies.
Ability to maintain well-organized financial files and documentation for audits and reporting.
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in a family-owned and operated concrete manufacturing business. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in a close-knit office environment, collaborating directly with company leadership. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
