Job Description**
The Stock Room Associate supports shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities in a fast-paced assembly and manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all materials and equipment are accurately received, stored, picked, and shipped according to established procedures, while maintaining an organized and efficient stockroom and shipping area.
Responsibilities
Receive incoming shipments of materials and equipment, verify accuracy against documentation, and check for discrepancies or damage.
Perform all stockroom procedures including put-aways, picks, cycle counts, and proper loading and organization of shelves.
Carry out routine shipping functions in accordance with clearly defined and established procedures.
Maintain shipping, receiving, and stockroom areas in a neat, safe, and orderly manner.
Use ERP and MRP systems to enter, update, and verify shipping, receiving, and inventory data.
Troubleshoot basic issues in the ERP system related to data entry, inventory records, or transaction errors.
Handle material movement including loading, unloading, and transporting items using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as needed.
Perform inventory control tasks such as cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliation of physical inventory with system records.
Pick and prepare orders, kits, and production materials accurately and on time using RF scanners and other tools.
Apply standard practices and procedures to daily tasks, making minor decisions that require practical judgment within clearly defined guidelines.
Assist with general labor tasks in the production and assembly environment as required to support operations.
Ensure accurate data entry for shipping labels, packing lists, and inventory transactions.
Follow all safety and handling procedures, particularly when working with materials that may require special packaging or shipping methods.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.
Previous work experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or production environment.
Proficiency with ERP systems for entering, checking, and occasionally troubleshooting information.
Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of inventory and order processing systems.
Experience with inventory control processes such as picking, stocking, cycle counts, and material handling.
Ability to use RF scanners or similar scanning devices for inventory and order processing.
Ability to operate pallet jacks and familiarity with general material handling practices.
Knowledge of simple arithmetic for counting, reconciliation, and basic inventory calculations.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Capability to follow clearly prescribed standard practices and procedures and exercise practical judgment in routine decisions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent education.
Familiarity with ERP and MRP systems beyond basic use.
Experience working in a stockroom environment with shipping, receiving, and inventory responsibilities.
Forklift experience or ability to learn forklift operation in accordance with safety guidelines.
Background in kitting and order preparation for production or assembly operations.
Training in Mil Spec and Hazardous Material Packaging is a plus.
Knowledge of ICC shipping requirements is considered a bonus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation.
Ability to perform general labor tasks and support production as needed.
Comfort working with computers and scanning equipment in a warehouse or stockroom setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Collegeville, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
