Industrial Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of industrial process and environmental control equipment. In this role, you will work with automated systems, mechanical equipment, and environmental infrastructure that support water treatment and air quality operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on troubleshooting experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience working with automated industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, operate, and maintain automated industrial equipment utilizing PLCs, control networks, and HMI platforms.
Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and system reliability.
Diagnose and repair mechanical systems including pumps, motors, hydraulic components, filtration equipment, and process machinery.
Support the operation and maintenance of water processing, wastewater treatment, and air quality control systems.
Conduct environmental sampling activities and collect operational data in accordance with facility requirements.
Inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, including pH monitoring and process measurement devices.
Troubleshoot automation and controls-related issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Perform mechanical repairs and component replacements on production and process equipment.
Ensure equipment and processes remain compliant with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance records.
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve system efficiency and equipment performance.
Required Qualifications
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment in a manufacturing, process, utilities, or environmental setting.
Working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems and automated equipment.
Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and controls-related issues.
Experience working with HMI software and industrial monitoring systems.
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices.
Familiarity with pumps, motors, valves, filtration systems, and related process equipment.
Ability to read equipment manuals, technical drawings, and operational procedures.
Comfortable working independently while managing multiple maintenance priorities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting water treatment, wastewater treatment, or environmental process systems.
Knowledge of industrial air handling, emission control, or environmental compliance equipment.
Experience calibrating instrumentation and process control devices.
Understanding of hydraulic systems and fluid-handling equipment.
Experience in automotive, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, or mechanical repair environments.
Exposure to regulated industrial facilities where detailed procedures and documentation are required.

This is a Contract position based out of Tacoma, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
